Rummy 500, also referred to as Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, 500 Rum, or 500 Rummy, is a well-regarded variant of the traditional Rummy game. It distinguishes itself from standard Rummy by allowing players to draw not only the top card from the discard pile but multiple cards, expanding strategic possibilities.

According to widely accepted rules, players score points for melded cards while losing points for unmelded cards, often referred to as deadwood, which remain in their hands when another player declares they have “gone out” or finished their play.

Game rules include:
<ul>
 <li>The game accommodates 2-4 players.</li>
 <li>Only one deck of cards with jokers is utilized.</li>
 <li>Each player is dealt 7 cards at the start of the game.</li>
 <li>The primary objective is to be the first player to accumulate 500 points. In cases where multiple players reach this score simultaneously, only the player with the highest points is declared the winner.</li>
 <li>Players must form sets and sequences; sets consist of any 3-4 cards of the same rank, while sequences require three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Scoring is calculated based on the value of these melds.</li>
 <li>Gameplay involves drawing a card at the beginning of a turn and discarding a card to conclude it.</li>
 <li>Players can also lay down a meld or add cards to existing melds, an action referred to as building.</li>
 <li>Jokers function as wild cards, substituting for any card in a meld.</li>
 <li>When picking up discarded cards, players must use the last card immediately to create a meld; otherwise, the action is considered invalid.</li>
 <li>Royalty cards are valued at 10 points each, while aces can be worth 11 points in certain contexts but attract a penalty of 15 points if held as deadwood. Jokers adopt the value of replaced cards and similarly incur a 15-point penalty.</li>
 <li>The game consists of several rounds, with scores accumulating over time. A player wins once their total score meets or exceeds 500 points. In case of a tie, a playoff determines the ultimate winner who claims the pot.</li>
